About Us
Brookings Wesleyan Church was born in 1950 when two families had a dream for a Wesleyan Church in Brookings. We started out in a small building at the corner of 8th Street and 5th Avenue. We moved to our present location in 1974, and have expanded our facilities several times since then. We are part of The Wesleyan Church, an evangelical, Protestant denomination, which is named after our founder, John Wesley.
We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes it possible have our sins forgiven and to know God in a personal way. For additional info about our history, click here.
We are a church that offers the kinds of ministries you would expect from a larger church, like ministries to children, youth, college students and a great music program. However, as we have grown we have never lost that “family” feeling. If you are searching for a church home, we’d love to have you be a part of our church family. God has blessed BWC in incredible ways since our small beginnings in 1950, but we believe that our best days are still ahead of us.
