Children

Providing Christian education, while keeping children safe, is the priority of BWC’s Children’s Ministries. We serve children through grade six, guiding them to become effective, responsible, pleasing followers of Jesus Christ. Partnering with the child’s parents in a developmentally appropriate setting, we seek to help the children fellowship with each other, while learning about their Forever Friend, Jesus. Parent volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer in their child’s classroom, whenever possible.

Milky Way Stars/Infants  (0-24 months)
The infant nursery is available to families during our Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities. The facility is designed with little ones in mind. Background checks are done on all paid nursery staff; nursery volunteers are screened carefully. All equipment, including toys, is sanitized after each use.

Explorer II (age 2), Explorer III (age 3) and Explorer IV (age 4)
Small groups are available for all children during our Sunday morning worship services and on Wednesday evenings. Music, drama, play and lessons are an integral part of their activities. Each classroom is staffed with a minimum of two teacher volunteers.

KidZone (Grades K-6)
Attending small groups and large group, the children are encouraged to know Jesus Christ as Savior, teaching them to follow Him as Lord and equipping them to serve Him as Master. KidZone meets Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Planet 56 is designed for grades five and six, Galaxy 34 is for third and fourth graders, Orbit 12 is for first and second graders and K’Rockets is for kindergarteners.

Wednesday Activities
Wesleyan KidZone meets on Wednesday nights from 7-8 p.m. Preschoolers meet in age-alike groups, where play, music, drama and relationships teach the children that church is safe, church is God’s house, and church is a fun place to meet friends. The children in KidZone (grades K-4) meet for a weekly chapel where they sing the latest kids songs, get excited about learning projects, hear a Bible lesson on the topic for the month and have an opportunity to give to a mission project through World Hope International. Learning about God, growing like Jesus and knowing God’s truth are the objectives for Wednesday night. On the first Wednesday night of each month, the children may use the Wesleyan bucks they earn to purchase items from The KidZone Store.

Planet 56 (Grades 5 & 6) meets from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday nights. The first Wednesday of each month, boys and girls meet together for Activity Night (swimming, paint ball, gym, etc.) The remaining nights the boys and girls meet in small groups discussing, with their leaders, pertinent issues for today’s world.
