Preschool

Purpose
The purpose of Orchard Drive Preschool is to minister to the community by providing a school facility with an emphasis on Christian principles. We seek to promote a God-centered approach to life and learning. We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God. We believe that the quality of early childhood education is improved by the instruction and influence of Christian teachers. As an outreach ministry of Brookings Wesleyan Church, Orchard Drive Preschool operates as a nonprofit organization in compliance with constitutional, state and local agencies.

Goals
In a Christian atmosphere, our goal is to provide educational experiences for children in the following areas: self-reliance, sociability, physical skills, creativity, language and concept development and character development. Orchard Drive Preschool does not discriminate based on race, color, age, national or ethnic origin, gender or disability.

Curriculum
Our preschool curriculum stimulates exploration and encourages problem-solving skills, creativity, social and emotional growth all while being in the comfort of a Christian environment. Our Preschoolers develop a broad knowledge base of the world around them through experiential learning. Their teachers accept them as individuals and encourage each child to progress at his or her own pace laying the foundations for language, beginning academic skills, and social skills. Some activities or areas of interest include Art, Storytime and Songs, Bible Verses, Field Trips, Finger Plays, Science, Math, and Gross & Fine Motor Development
